Some bouquets can be bright and bold, others more simple; flower arrangements come in all sorts of colours, textures, shapes and sizes.
What kind of flowers would the signs Libra to Pisces appreciate receiving and what should you consider when buying flowers for your lover?
Flowers for Libra on Valentine's Day
Librans love surprises, and even if they're working on Valentine's day, have their flowers sent to their workplace.
Librans will respond well to pastel shades and greens. If you can't afford a bouquet, a glorious flowering plant or arrangement picked from the garden with greens and soft pastel hues will give the message that you care. Include in the bouquet: Roses, orchids, freesia, hydrangea and daisies
Flowers for Scorpio on Valentine's Day
Scorpios will respond well to dark reds, purple and maroon flowers. They aren't pretentious and although they will always appreciate loving tokens of affection, Scorpios won't expect anything too big or ostentatious. The size of the bouquet doesn't matter; neither will the price.
For Scorpio, it's the thought that counts and has the biggest impact. Include in the bouquet: Red peonies, roses, red hot poker, anthurium, rhododendron, honey-suckle and geranium
Flowers for Sagittarius on Valentine's Day
Sagittarians will respond well to deep purple and dark blue flowers. Sagittarius is a fire sign, ardent and passionate in nature. Choose a passionate arrangement, therefore, that might include oranges, reds, golds and hot pinks. Rather than huge fancy curly ribbons, Sagittarius will probably appreciate something more simple and less flashy. Include in the bouquet: Carnations, crocus, alliums, pinks and peony
Flowers for Capricorns on Valentine's Day
Capricorns will respond well to greens and dark coloured or white flowers. Ruled by Saturn, Capricorn is a conservative sign. Traditional bouquets and flower arrangements are best suited for them. Consider the packaging; they will appreciate anything practical. An earthenware pot or wicker basket that can be re-used will appeal to their desire not to waste money.
Include in the bouquet: African violets, jasmine, snowdrops, ivy, love-lies bleeding, aspen and hemlock
Flowers for Aquarius for Valentine's Day
Aquarius will respond well to pink and electric blue flowers. Go for exotic flowers and unusual combinations as fuled by Uranus, Aqurius is an unconventional sign. They will appreciate a mix of colours, shapes and textures that may not normally be seen together.
Include in the bouquet: Lillies, orchids, gladiolus, solomon's seal and goldenrain
Flowers for Pisces for Valentine's Day
Pisces is a sensitive and romantic sign. Before sending flowers consider the kind of message you want to convey. Red roses will be sending a strong signal of love for the Pisces; if you'd rather keep the message more casual, choose a dazzling floral display of yellows, purples and blues. If you're strapped for cash, a single red rose that expresses all that's in your heart will delight your Pisces sweetheart. Include in the bouquet: Alstromeria, wisteria, lilac, lilies, clematis and poppies
Sending Gifts of Flowers
When sending flowers, a few well chosen words will help to get the message across. A bouquet sent anonymously could be from anyone and should the recipient guess wrongly, this could be one Valentine's gesture that may backfire. If you've a definite message in mind as you send this gift, be sure the card conveys this.
