The principle of astrology rests on ancient philosophies and careful observations throughout the ages. Astrology links man's subconscious mind with his conscious; his intuition with rational thinking and thereby, as a tool, it helps us understand and deal with everyday situations. It is a useful guide to life, a companionable 'escort' through life's ups and downs, but astrology should NEVER be used to dictate or direct. To do so would be denying man his freewill. The birthchart can be used to show possible potentials but how people react to these potentials should be left entirely up to them.

There are many misconceptions regarding astrology. "It is written in the Stars" is not as absolute as it might first appear. An astrologer could never take into account every single variable that might lead to a faultless forecast. Personally, I am glad this is so. Astrology is fascinating, exciting and intriguing. At one time, there are always many varying aspects at work and because of this, astrology can show a number of possibilities. Two babies born at the same time and place may have charts which show the same potentials, but one might be born to a princess, the other to a pauper. They are bound to lead completely different lifestyles and to be affected by different opportunities. They will therefore develop at different levels of experience despite sharing the same innate potentials at birth.

Developing 'potentials' with which we are born is not as unlikely a theory as it might first sound. Psychologists too, are starting to realise that genetic and environmental factors always interact and that often there are critical periods in a child's life, whereby if they do not receive the social, intellectual or communicative stimulation they need, certain skills will never develop as well as they should have done.
